Your role with us

As a social pedagogue, you work with practical support for students and guardians. You identify which students need support and interventions and assist students in both social situations and teaching situations throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. You strive to create the right conditions for a safe school environment. You build good relationships with both students and guardians and engage in motivational conversations with students, as well as advisory and follow-up conversations with guardians. You plan and carry out activities, both for individual students and in groups, based on student needs with the aim of promoting security and study peace.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other school staff and the student health team. Understanding each other's professional roles is of utmost importance. In consultation with the student health team, you can assist in contacting authorities and external agencies, such as the Employment and Social Services Administration, Child Habilitation, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP). If necessary, you also conduct home visits to reach students who do not attend school. The work can be both physically demanding and mentally stressful.

Who are we looking for?

You who apply have:

  • A degree in social pedagogy at least at the bachelor's level (180 ECTS/120 points).
  • A two-year social pedagogical education from a folk high school or university college.
  • A degree/pass from equivalent education from a university/university college/university college of vocational studies that the employer deems sufficiently extensive.

We require you to have at least one year of experience working with children and young people. If you also have at least one year of work experience within the school sector, it is an advantage. Work experience in working with people with neuropsychiatric disabilities is an advantage, as is experience of having close contact with guardians. We would also like you to have experience working with multicultural target groups and innovative learning.

You have the ability to choose appropriate courses of action within the pedagogical methods and techniques the school uses. We want you to have the ability to act independently and in collaboration with others for the benefit of children and students, which you do with respect and openness to different people's life situations and life choices. You have knowledge of work with inclusion and social participation.

Good ability to document and communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, is required for the role. You are receptive in interaction with different target groups and meet them in a balanced, low-affective, and respectful manner. You also need to have a good ability to guide students based on their experiences and prerequisites.

To allow us to assess your application, you must attach degree certificates/transcripts of your completed education. When we wish to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police record of criminal convictions so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.

Who we are

Fjälkinge School is a primary and lower secondary school (Grades F-9) in the countryside just outside Kristianstad, where Joy, Learning, Engagement, Security, and Responsibility are our keywords. We work closely together in a warm and supportive collegium where ideas are welcomed and where every employee has the opportunity to contribute their competence and personality. Here we dare to think new, value strong relationships, and work with a clear focus: that both students and staff should feel pride when they walk through the doors every day.

The younger students mainly come from the nearby villages, while the lower secondary school attracts young people from large parts of the municipality – and even from neighboring municipalities – thanks to our popular football academy. The school also has good communications to Kristianstad, making it easy to commute.

The Child and Education Administration conducts pedagogical activities ranging from preschool to adult education. In a safe, creative, and democratic environment that values the equal worth of all people, we work for learning, knowledge, and care. We are looking for you who want to help shape the future!

What we offer

  • A workplace with good collegial relations, where collaboration and lack of hierarchy create conditions for both job satisfaction and professional development.
  • Secure structures and clear leadership, which give you support and direction in your assignment.
  • A school in strong development, where long-term work with quality, learning, and student health is at the center.
  • Close contact with students and guardians, in a school environment characterized by local engagement and proximity.
  • At Fjälkinge School, we believe in the power of professional meetings and the courage to try new paths. If you are looking for a workplace where you can make a real difference – and feel that you do – then this is the right place for you.
